Proper has a full bar with liquor, wine, and 30 craft beers on tap. We're proud to offer libations from the finest local breweries and distilleries.

FOOD

Proper is a scratch kitchen, which means we make the majority of our menu items in-house including our stocks, sauces, desserts, and of course our Proper pizza dough! Proper's fresh dough is produced from a proprietary sourdough starter. The dough is allowed to rise for 3 days, which gives our crust a supremely unique flavor and texture.  Proper pizzas are baked to order in our 800-degree wood-burning oven and measure approximately 11 inches across (8 slices per pizza).

Proper Brick Oven & Tap Room is an original concept developed, owned, and operated by Pittsburgh native Suzanne Hrach.

Had the carnivore pizza and Oreo cheesecake for dessert. Both were exceptional! Dale our waiter was attentive without being overbearing.

"We came in here to grab a beer and watch a basketball game while we waited for an event and we really wish we would have grabbed one of the pizzas! The food looked incredible. The staff was incredibly friendly and the restaurant itself was beautiful. We'll definitely be back for food soon!"

Proper Brick Oven & Tap Room is located in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh’s Cultural District, just steps away from the city's finest theatres and galleries. We're an easy walk from the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, many downtown hotels, and the North Shore sports venues. We are not currently accepting reservations, and all guests are seated on a first-come, first served basis once their entire party is present.

CLOSED EASTER SUNDAY

Full menu available until 1 hour before closing time. Wood-fired pizzas available until 30 minutes before closing time. Last call is 30 minutes before closing time.
