Online ordering for takeout is available Tuesday through Thursday from 5-8:30 pm. Please note that we will no longer be offering takeout on Friday and Saturday nights because our kitchen doesn't have the capacity to handle external orders when the restaurant is full.

Proper Brick Oven & Tap Room is an original concept developed, independently owned, and personally operated by Pittsburgh native Suzanne Hrach. Suzanne has traveled far and wide, dining and drinking her way across America and abroad for inspiration. In 2013 she finally got the opportunity to bring her idea of a "proper" bar and restaurant to her beloved hometown when she launched Proper Brick Oven & Tap Room, located in the heart of Pittsburgh's Cultural District. Proper's meticulous focus on wood-fired pizzas, fresh pastas, creative cocktails, and local craft beers contributes to the vibrancy of the downtown dining scene.
"My husband and I go to a different restaurant each year for our anniversary, and this past year, we did takeout from Proper. Pizza, an Amalfi salad for me (which I will get without the kalamata olives next time lol, I was unprepared for the taste of those, having not had them before), wings for my husband, and a dipping sauce that tasted exactly like a garlic butter sauce I used to eat when I was a kid, and which you can't really find anymore - except at Proper, and it tasted EXACTLY as I remembered it, it was perfect. Great for pizza crust dipping! YES, we will be back when we can!"
"As soon as you walk in, the smell of the food will have you planning your next visit. I was there with my sister and good friend. We just left The Summer: Donna Summer Musical and was looking for a place to get dinner and it was very busy downtown since it was also Light Up Night. Scott, our server was AWESOME!! He took very good care of us and we never had to flag him down for anything. I had the lasagna (a must try) but after seeing the pizza, I'm going in for the kill lol. When in town, please dine here. You will not be disappointed."
